Unbeatable Social Cricket in the Heart of edinburgh
Welcome to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Cricket Club, also known as The Botanics Cricket Club, but more commontly known as 'the Bots'.
We are one of Edinburgh's oldest cricket club, founded in 1898 with an illustrious history originally as a cricket club of the Botanic Garden's students and staff. Since then we have evolved to a social cricket team, and in 2026 we intend on entering the league for the first time in the club's history.

We play social T20 matches throughout the week in the summer.
If you enjoy a cricket match, and then a cool beverage afterwards, then we're the club for you!
Competitive Saturday Cricket
Competitive Saturday Cricket
For the first time in our 127 year history, we plan on entering the league structure to play competetitive 40 over matches on Saturdays.
We will be entering in Division 9, so expect fun, fast cricket with lots of jokes along the way - and always some post-game.
Social Cup Matches

We also enter social cup competitions, such as the Terry Newcombe Cup. In 2025, we got through to the quarter finals.
Usually played on a Sunday as a 30 over game.

For 2026, our home ground will be at the Trinity Academy Sport Campus in Bangholm, Edinburgh.
We are also planning on doing indoor nets here throughout winter.
